The Olive

Walking through mental health struggles is a lot like the journey of an olive.

First comes the beating. Life hits hard. The branches get struck and you feel every blow. It’s the anxiety, the depression, the days when getting out of bed feels impossible.

Then comes the shaking. Everything in you feels unstable. You’re being tossed, turned, pressed. The trauma, the intrusive thoughts, the nights that won’t end. It’s messy and it’s painful, and it makes you wonder if anything good can come from this.

But olives aren’t ruined by the beating or the shaking. That’s how the oil is released.

Your greater is coming. The pressing isn’t the end of your story. It’s where the healing starts to flow. The peace, the clarity, the strength you didn’t know you had — that’s the oil.

If you’re in the shaking right now, hold on. You’re not being destroyed. You’re being prepared. The oil of who you’re becoming is worth the process.
