Sisters and brothers, I’ve been praying about where we are as a nation and as the Church, and I want to share this with a compassionate heart.
In the Bible it’s clear that Adam was formed first, not second. 1 Timothy 2:13 reminds us, “For Adam was formed first, then Eve.” That order matters. God’s design for leadership in the church calls men to the office of pastor and elder, while women are gifted as teachers, nurturers, and wise counselors. Titus 2 shows older women teaching younger women. Priscilla taught alongside Aquila, but she wasn’t placed as a pastor over men. Teaching is a high calling, and women are anointed for it.
We’ve seen what happens when we put people in roles God didn’t design. Look at Kamala Harris. She wasn’t a strong leader because her gifting is more second-in-command, more of a teacher’s heart than a commander’s mantle. And that’s not an insult — second-in-command is vital. But when the nation was heading south, when the border was in crisis, we needed a leader with the mantle to take charge. Many of us felt we needed a strong man, and yes, a Republican, to step in and fix things, because leadership matters and order matters.
The truth is, women are second in command by God’s design. That doesn’t mean less value — it means different roles. When we swap those roles, society feels it. We see gender confusion rising. Mental health is skyrocketing. People are hurting because they’re in the wrong roles, trying to carry mantles they weren’t given.
But here’s the hope: God chooses who He wants as leaders. Sometimes He raises up a Deborah, sometimes a David. Our job isn’t to fight His order, but to put on the whole armor of God — Ephesians 6:11 — and walk in the Holy Spirit. When each of us walks in the role He gave us, there’s peace.
The new generation is chasing fame and likes without understanding life through education, without wisdom from God’s Word. They need mothers and fathers, teachers and pastors, each in their place. So let’s love people enough to tell the truth. Let’s pray for our leaders, men and women, to walk in the Spirit. And let’s raise up our kids to know that God’s design is good, even when culture says otherwise.
