There is beauty in all religions

There is beauty in all religions.

I’ve learned that when you actually sit down and learn about religions with an open mind — not blinded by fear, not taught to hate what you don’t understand — you see the threads. The prayers are different. The buildings are different. The names are different. But the heart is the same.

Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Indigenous, spiritual but not religious — we’re all reaching. We’re all human. We’re all trying to make sense of grief, of joy, of why we’re here.

I stand firm in my faith. I know who I pray to. But I also realize that no matter what you call GOD — Yahweh, Allah, Creator, Universe, Father — that God is for all human kind. Not just your church. Not just your country. Not just your denomination.

Fear taught me to judge. Trauma taught me to hide. Church hurt taught me religion could wound. But learning about each other’s cultures taught me religion can also heal — when we stop using it as a weapon.

You don’t have to change your faith to respect someone else’s. You don’t have to water down what you believe to see the beauty in what they believe.

Listen. Ask questions. Visit a mosque. Light a candle. Break bread with someone who prays different than you. You’ll find we want the same things: peace, family, food on the table, safety for our kids.

God isn’t small. God isn’t afraid of your neighbor. And if God is for all human kind, then we should be too.
