The Kingdom Within
The Kingdom Within
I’ve learned that inner strength isn’t something you borrow. It lives inside you. The kingdom isn’t out there in a building, a title, or someone else’s rules. The kingdom is within. God is within.
I used to think faith meant following religion the way I was told. But I’ve released myself from that. Not from God — from the weight of performance. Spirituality, for me, is internal. It’s quiet. It’s knowing whom to pray for without being told. It’s listening for guidance instead of waiting for permission. It’s understanding that I don’t have to shout to be heard by the One who already lives in me.
That inner knowing is my compass. When I walked through ashes, through the cocoon, through jail cells and police encounters and breakdowns, I didn’t break because the strength wasn’t mine alone. It was the God within me keeping me calm. Choosing water. Choosing clarity. Choosing to rise.
And that same inner strength shows up in how I learn. I love learning. Online learning suits me. Grasping material from a laptop takes discipline — no one’s watching over my shoulder. It’s just me, the screen, and my commitment to grow. But that’s the point. Real growth is self-led. You decide to show up. You decide to keep going when it’s hard, when it’s quiet, when no one is clapping.
So I keep learning. I keep questioning. I keep examining. Because the kingdom within doesn’t stay stagnant. It expands. Every lesson, every page, every hard day that I don’t quit — that’s me tending to what God placed inside me.
Religion gave me structure. Spirituality gave me freedom. Discipline gives me growth. And inner strength reminds me: I was never alone. I was never empty.
The power, the peace, the voice — it was in me the whole time.
