Real Advise

Mental Health Check. Real advise

My daddy gave me some of the realest advice I ever got — and it wasn’t from a textbook.

He used to say, “I pull over raggedy cars because normally their stickers ain’t good and they got issues with things.” He always said that. And let’s be honest… most cops do that.

If your car looks like it’s been through the Book of Revelations, don’t be shocked if you get a revelation with red and blue lights. 😂

He also taught me: think about the color you buy.

Red cars? Notorious. You will get stopped more. You will collect tickets like Pokémon cards. Red screams “Look at me!” and trust me — law enforcement heard you.

Black cars with tinted windows? Whew. Easy target. Especially at night. Cops notice anything out of the ordinary. Flash, rims, stickers, fuzzy dice — if it’s different, it gets attention.

Me? I’ve always had white or grey cars. Why? Because they blend in with society.
I call them “invisible mode.” I’m not trying to win Fast & Furious. I’m trying to get to WinCo in peace.

Now I wasn’t born like this. I just observe. I always sit and observe. I see things — even people that tried to do things behind my back.

But then again… I look at the source. I look at that person. Then I look at my life.
And baby, there is no comparison.

I’ve been through the ashes. The cocoon. The Douglas County brown bag. The lace fronts and the Imakos. I’ve been called delusional by UC Berkeley vocabulary. I’ve risen anyway.

So my car is grey. My spirit is gold. And my peace? Priceless.

Moral of the story:
You can drive what you want — but if you want peace, sometimes you choose the car that lets you be.
Because life already pulls us over enough. No need to help it with a candy-apple red Mustang.

Stay safe. Stay blended. Stay you. 💛🚗
