My 10 year plan

My 10-Year Plan: From Ashes to Office Space 🦋

Since 2023 when everything crashed, I’ve been rebuilding. Car. Shelter. Motel. Eviction. Bankruptcy. Rock bottom had a basement and I found it.

But God.

Today I’m posting my 10-year plan because speaking it makes it real. And somebody else needs to know it’s possible.

Years 1-2: Get the place‍ ‍

Right now I’m going through paperwork to get approved for my own apartment. No more “we’ll let you know.” Keys. A door that locks. A mailbox with my name. Stability first. I’m done surviving — I’m building.

Years 3-4: Rebuild ME‍ ‍

Physically: Taking care of this body that carried me through hell. Walking, eating better, doctor appointments I put off.

Mentally: Therapy. Boundaries. Staying strong. I get down sometimes — I’m human — but I don’t unpack and live there.

Financially: Credit repair. Savings. Learning to thrive, not just survive.

Years 5-7: Get deeper in community‍ ‍

Continue serving on the Governor’s Racial Justice Committee. Stay active at Center 50+. Get more involved in local government here in Salem. If you’ve been judged by the system, you should have a seat at the table changing it. I do. And I’m not leaving.

Years 8-10: Launch the nonprofit‍ ‍

My own 501c3. With office space. With a car to get to the girls who can’t get to me. A place where young women and women hear my story and know: Eviction isn’t your identity. Bankruptcy isn’t your ending. The cocoon isn’t a grave.‍ ‍

We’ll talk about domestic violence. About medical trauma. About being biracial and unhoused and still chosen by God. We’ll do the paperwork TOGETHER. We’ll heal TOGETHER.

The whole 10 years: Speak more.‍ ‍

I’m done being quiet about what I survived. My story reaches people. Jury duty proved that — they put me on the other side of the courtroom. So I’m speaking. At churches. At shelters. At city hall. On this app.

Jeremiah 29:11 said He had plans to prosper me. Plans for hope and a future. This is what it looks like:

From car → to shelter → to motel → to apartment → to office → to impact.

From ashes → to cocoon → to butterfly → to helping other butterflies get free.

I’m 51. Biracial. Disabled. Evicted. Bankrupt. And called.

The system said “denied.” God said “developing.”

The past said “defendant.” The future says “founder.”

Watch me work. Watch God work. We’re doing it together.
